Rev. Mcebisi Xundu (Chairperson)
Former Archdeacon of the Diocese of Port Elizabeth, former member of the Reparations and Reconciliation committee in the Truth Reconciliation Commission. He is President of the Eastern Cape Provincial Council of Churches. He is a Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the following companies: All Pay Eastern Cape Pty Ltd, Msele Property Brokers Pty Ltd, Nyuseni Investment company Pty Ltd. Chairperson of the following Trusts: Mzingisi Development Trust, Algoa Bay Charitable Trust, Goba Empowerment Trust. Chairperson of Moral Regeneration Movement (Eastern Cape)


Prof. Pali Mohanoe
A former Science and Maths teacher, lecturer and professor in the Department of Didactics at the University of the North. Former Chief of Staff at the Free State Premier's office. He was the first head master at Phuting College. He's one of the founding members of the Equal Opportunity Foundation, he has also served as a trustee on a number of Boards including: Teacher Opportunity Programme (TOPS), Donaldson Trust, Educational Opportunities Council, National Development Agency (Founding member), New Era Schools Trust (Trustee, Headmaster & Fundraiser), Anglo American Edu. Trust (Wits), South Sesotho Language Committee, University of Bophuthatswana (Sanate).


Mr. Ebrahim Bhorat
Director of companies. He is involved with Melomed a Group of Private Hospitals. He trained as a teacher and he has experiences in the field of finance and management . E Bhorat serves as a Trustee/Director on various Boards.


Dr. Isabel Manaka-Mkhwanazi
A former Principal of King Edward VIII Campus of the KwaZulu Natal College of Nursing. Former Chairperson of the KwaZulu Natal Educators Association and with a keen interest in nursing education. She has co-authored three nursing textbooks. With a masters degree in Clinical psychology and a Ph.D in Social Sciene from the University of KwaZulu Natal, Isabel is deeply involved in all aspects of health care and serves as a volunteer child and family councellor.


Prof. Gertrude Mncube
Is a retired Head of the Department of Nursing at the University of the North. She is firmly committed to the up liftment of health standards amongst poor communities. Mrs Mncube serves on boards of church, university, hospital and community organisations.


Mr. Bonny Mokhutle
Is a businessman involved in the construction industry. He previously worked as the private secretary to the Premier of Free State Provincial Government and before that was a Senior Corporate Business Analyst for The Free State Development Corporation. He was also Director of Business Performance Analysis and the Head of the Department of Public Enterprise and of Economic Affairs and Tourism in the Free State.


Mr. Motale Nkgoang
Currently employed by University of South Africa (Unisa) as Student Advisor. He completed Management Development Program (MDP) at Unisa, currently registered as a final year student for Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at Unisa (SBL). He served in the governance structures of Unisa, namely Senate and Institutional Forum. Former chairperson of Mangaung Winter schools project. He served as a Spiritual worker at Polsmoor Prison. Currently a member of the executive committee of the Promise Keepers Mens' ministry. Co- Pastoring Dunoon Community Church.


Mr. George Gibbs
A community and social welfare worker, with many years experience in the field. He has been involved with a number of Foundations in the corporate and NGO sectors as well as community organisations and is still actively involved in the field.


STAFF


Michelle Lovett (Manager)
She has 17 years experience in the development sector in a funding organisation (including project and programme management and general management of the organization). She has educational background in Human Resources Management, Micro Business Counselling Programme Various workshops and seminars on development issues.


Thandeka Nkosi (Project Co-ordinator)
She's been with the foundation since last year. Her experience in the development field includes a stint working in the Government Community Based Public Works Programme. She has a BA in Humanities and a Masters Degree also in Humanities majoring in Organisational Development both obtained in the USA and is currently writing a research paper on Municipal Service Delivery as part of a part time second masters degree in Public Management & Development with the University of the Witwatersrand.


Vuyiswa Mokoena (Project Officer)
Joined Equal Opportunity Foundation in 2003 as Project Officer for Mpumalanga, Gauteng and the Western Cape Provinces. She has been involved in community development work for the past seven years. Her passion is in the fight against poverty and the upliftment of the quality of life of poverty stricken communities. She attained her Social Work and Social Development degrees through the Witwatersrand and Cape Town Universities respectively and has attended short courses in Local Economic Development and Project Management through the Stellenbosch University.


Luvuyo Solomon(Project Officer)
Joined Equal Opportunity Foundation in 2003 as Project Officer for KwaZulu Natal, Eastern Cape and the Northern Cape Provinces. He has a Diploma in Marketing Management from Cape Peninsula University of Technology Belville Campus (PENTECH) and a short course certificate in Local Economic Development from the University of Stellenbosch. He has nine years of experience in community development, gained while working for Open Society Foundation head office in Cape Town, disbursing development funding to the poor nationally; Trust for Community Outreach and Education doing community organizing, organizational development, needs assessment and popular education working in the rural fisher folk areas of the Western Cape. He has also worked for Ziphilele Youth Development Programme where he designed marketing strategies for the youth programme and also organized and facilitated capacity building training workshops on smme development for the youth from disadvantaged communities in the Western Cape. His aim is to see the rural poor people strongly addressing the poverty and unemployment problem and also actively participating in the mainstream economy.


Eugene Machimana (Project Officer)
He joined the EOF last year (2006) and is responsible for The Limpopo. Free State and North West Provinces. He has worked in the NGO sector for over 8 years where he held various positions that relate to community development. At Khanyisa Integrated Development Company he was worked with the Planned Parenthood Association of South Africa (PPASA). He had the opportunity of educating youth about HIV and AIDS. He has also held a position of Student Development Advisor with Rural Education Access Programme (REAP) where he was responsible for selecting, counselling, mentoring and training students studying at institutions of Higher Education (HE). His educational qualifications include Higher Diploma in Education (HDE) Giyani College of Education, BA majoring in Psychology Stellenbosch University and Honours degree in Social Behaviour Studies in HIV and AIDS UNISA.


Rildah Moodley (Bookkeeper)
She joined Equal Opportunity Foundation in 2001 after working for an Investment Company. She has a diploma for Finance Management and Accounting as well as certification for Pastel Accounting and Pastel Payroll.


Nomonde Limba (Admin Assistant)
She joined the EOF in 2005 after working for various events management companies. She holds an Information Technology diploma and hopes to further her studies in the Public Relations field.
